iOS 15

πŸ˜ƒ Facetime - The notable thing here is that Facetime finally reaches outside the Apple ecosystem. Windows and Android users can participate with a link. Makes you wonder how this will affect apps like Google Duo if people aren't already attached to it.

🀝 SharePlay - A nice, albeit late, feature to spruce up remote interactions with friends and family. Watch, listen and screen share together on iOS devices. Great to remotely assist a family member. It's also nice that it supports AirPlay when appropriate.

πŸ“΅ Focuses - Set a "focus" for work, sleep, personal, do not disturb, etc. Limit notificiations for certain apps, turn them off completely. This is a welcome addition to the OS.

❗ Notifications - They look a little different on the lock screen and there's a "notification summary" now, but notifications on iOS are still lightyears behind Android. This is the single biggest aspect of iOS that sends me back to Android.

πŸ’³ Wallet - "Siri, remind me in 2 years once 20% of states actually support IDs in the Wallet app." But seriously, this is an exciting glimpse into the future. This is going to take years and years to be widely supported.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Maps - More detailed maps in major cities. Clearer road markings and lane guidance.

🧭 Safari - Any update to Safari on the iPhone is welcome. This app feels so dated it's embarrassing. Looking forward to how the updated tab bar works in practice.

βš™ Widgets & App Library - Features that made it to iPhone last year that are finally arriving on iPadOS. Why did this take a year? It's hard to be excited about an old feature being announced as the flagship feature this year.
