Do not get this for serious fitness

Convenience

One of the biggest advantages of the Oura Ring is its convenience. Unlike other wearable technology, such as a Fitbit or Apple Watch, the Oura Ring is discreet and easy to wear. It doesn't get in the way during daily activities, and it's comfortable to wear during sleep. The Oura Ring also has a long battery life, which means you don't have to worry about charging it every day.

Sleep Tracking

Sleep tracking is one of the main features of the Oura Ring, and it's one of the reasons why many people choose to purchase it. The Oura Ring tracks various aspects of your sleep, including the time it takes to fall asleep, the length of time you spend in each sleep stage, and your overall sleep score. This information can be incredibly useful for those who struggle with sleep issues and want to make changes to improve their sleep quality.

Price

While the Oura Ring is a great piece of technology, it does come with a high price tag. The ring starts at $299, which is much more expensive than other wearable technology on the market. For some people, the price may be a barrier to purchasing the Oura Ring.

Conclusion

Overall, I believe the Oura Ring is a useful piece of technology for those who are interested in tracking their health and fitness. It's convenient, comfortable to wear, and provides valuable information about sleep and activity. However, the high price may be a barrier for some people, and it's important to consider whether the cost is worth it for your individual needs.

It’s great for passive data, and best if you tag everything you do and want to closely monitor your habits and how your body responds. Strongest functionality is sleep tracking, passive HR, HRV, body temp. “Regular life stuff”. The moment you start treating it as an activity/exercise tracker it will disappoint. The reason I keep wearing it is that it’s so unobtrusive. Never think about it, and when sleeping, comfort level is leagues better than any wrist tracker.

If you’re a serious fitness person, this cannot replace your serious fitness tracking stuff. So if you do serious fitness tracking stuff with a serious fitness tracker, you will need to be ok with using both.

If you’re very serious about keeping track of real exercise/activites/athletics, get a whoop. High monthly cost, but the data is amazing.

If you’re an apple person, the apple watch is very good at everything.
